Interview with Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer Ms Kanta presently working at Safdarjung New Delhi

Congrats, Ms. Kanta on being selected as a Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer in SAFDARJUNG New Delhi! Please tell us a bit about yourself.

Thanks a lot. Really grateful to Mantram Nursing Academy for helping me throughout my preparation for Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer SAFDARJUNG Recruitment Exam.

My name is Kanta. I did my Post Basic BSc Nursing from PGIMER Chandigarh. I always wanted to become Nursing Officer/Staff Nurse and thanks to all the people who supported me in the endeavor, I got selected as a Nursing Officer in SAFDARJUNG New Delhi.

When did you start preparing with Mantram Nursing Academy Chandigarh?

I joined Mantram Nursing Academy in Feb 2017. My favorite thing about the Mantram @ Staff Nurse Coaching. Com is that the faculty members explain each and every topic very widely.

Did your M.Sc. Nursing Entrance and SAFDARJUNG preparation go hand in hand?

I was not preparing for MSc Nursing Entrance. During my Post Basic in PGI, I was focusing on SAFDARJUNG New Delhi Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer Exam. After the completion of my Post Basic, for the next 4 months, I was fully dedicated to SAFDARJUNG Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer Recruitment Exam.

During my Post Basic, I studied for about 6-7 hours a day. After finishing my Post Basic, I joined Mantram Nursing Academy in Chandigarh for the preparation of SAFDARJUNG Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer Govt. Job Exam. I used to study at least 9-10 hours daily and gradually increased the time towards the end.

How did you go about solving the topic-wise MCQ Practice Booklet given by Mantram?

The question bank given to me by Mantram was very helpful. I would recommend once you complete one topic go through it once again just after completing it and do it again within 2-3 days. Be consistent and try to revise the Multiple Choice Questions 2-3 times before the exam.

Have you used textbooks of your Post Basic Nursing? What is your take on that?

With textbooks, you can get caught up in the lengthy text which will considerably slow you down. Don’t try to do everything. Speed is very important for Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer SAFDARJUNG Recruitment Exam. That’s why make your basics strong while doing Graduate Degree in Nursing. I used some MCQ books for Fundamentals of Nursing and Nursing Research rest of the nursing study notes provided to me by Mantram was updated and matched the competitive level of the SAFDARJUNG Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer Recruitment Exam.

Did you have a note-taking strategy as such?

The notes which are dictated in the classroom by the concerned faculty of Mantram, I used to note down each and everything very clearly. Moreover, the teachers used to give us important and relevant points at the end of each topic which really helped me a lot during my last revision near the exam.

How did you go about your revision?

Revision is very important for any competitive exam. The important and the relevant points which are dictated by the subject faculty, I used to repeatedly revised those points at least 8-10 times before the exam.

Did Mantram Mock Test help you? If yes, how?

The question selection for the SAFDARJUNG Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer Recruitment tests was really good. They cover most of the important topics. A week before the SAFDARJUNG exam I just revised the Mock Test and I could solve many questions in my SAFDARJUNG nurse exam just because of that, I would advise every Nursing aspirant to take the test series seriously and note down the points where you go wrong. Moreover after my regular nursing coaching classes was over I took Online Coaching For Nursing Officer from Mantram which was given to me free of cost to clear my left over doubts. The Mock Test for Nursing Officer also helped me a lot.

How did you approach image-based questions?

Don’t panic. See them 3-4 times. Don’t stress too much. Try to understand the key features. You will realize they are quite easy and the booklet which is made by Mantram especially on image-based questions helps me a lot.

What is your take on controversial questions?

Don’t waste much time on those questions. Ask someone who can make clear it or leave them. As long as your basic concepts are strong no need to worry about one particular question.

How would you recommend others to join Mantram?

I would highly recommend joining Mantram as the faculty members, study material and the competitive environment provided by the academy is outstanding. They even update you regarding the Upcoming Recruitment for Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer. The administrative staff of Mantram is also very good. Here I also want to share that once I got stuck in few questions of Medical-Surgical and got hesitated to call Mantram as the timing was odd. The exam of SAFDARJUNG was scheduled for the very next day and it was very important to clear those questions. Having no option left I called the administrative staff of Mantram and they immediately connected me to the concerned faculty. I cleared all my queries. Last but not least 5 stars for Mantram.

How many questions did you attempt in SAFDARJUNG?

I had attempted 195 out of 200 and got 20 wrong.

When do you recommend the Nursing aspirants to start preparing?

I would recommend aspirants to go through the textbooks thoroughly starting from the first year itself. That forms the foundation for your preparation. Mantram offers online Practice Question Series for the Nursing competitive exams so one can buy that also.

Thank you for your time, Ms. Kanta! All the very best for your career as a Nursing Officer/Staff Nurse in SAFDARJUNG New Delhi.
